SIZING QUESTIONS? Confused about your size, in between sizes or need assistance?
Please give us a call 704-663-0351 or email us at [email protected] We will get back to you quickly. Please include your height, weight, waist and inseam measurements.
MEN: Use the measurement of your jeans for a correct fit. Find your waist measurement first then look down the column for your inseam. If you are thinner build with thin legs and in-between sizes use the smaller size. If you are a huskier build with big muscular legs, use the larger size.
WOMEN: Measure around natural waist—not too loose, not too snug then from the inside top of thigh to the middle of ankle bone. See diagram for where to measure.

Q: What is a fabric shell? A: Fabric shells are shirts, pants and shorts with no armor. If you already own a set of Bohn armor, your armor will fit snugly into the pockets of any of our fabric shells.
Q: So does this come with armor? A: No. This product does NOT come with armor. If you are looking for the fully armored version, click here.
Q: Why would I need a fabric shell? A: There are many reasons why you might want to have an extra shell or two on hand. The most common one is so that you will always have an extra clean shirt, pants or shorts ready to go. This is extremely helpful when traveling and you may not have access to laundry facilities. Other reasons can include:
Change your style: Match your unique style with different colors
Weather changes: Choose a new shell for cooler or warmer weather
Weight changes: Maybe you’ve gained or lost a few pounds, a new fabric shell can help with that too!
One of the most convenient things about our Bodyguard System is that you only have to buy the armor once and it fits into any of our shells so you can swap it out as needed.
Q: Do the shells have pockets for the armor? A: The shells have all of the same pockets for armor as our fully armored versions.
Q: How do I put the armor into my shell? A: Armor installation may take a few practice runs but it becomes easier after you have done it a time or two. Full armor installation instructions can be found here.
Q: Will the fabric tear or rip when I put it on? It looks delicate. A: No, this fabric should not tear or rip when putting it on. It is actually quite strong but lightweight. With just a little mindfulness, these pants can last for decades and provide long-lasting protection. Just ask the 1000s who already own a pair. We always recommend putting on the pants with care and be careful not to tug too quickly to avoid undue stress on the seams. We also recommend that you wash this garment often and do not leave salt residue from salty air or sweat on it for long periods of time. Like any fabric, the salts can eat away at the stretchiness of the material.
Q: Are the pants abrasion resistant? A: The main design function of our Motorcycle Pants is impact protection. While the armor pieces do offer you some abrasion resistance in a fall, the pants themselves are not reinforced with Kevlar® or Cordura®. Our goal with our pants is to keep the armor right where you need it, if you need it. The armor stays snug to your body and won’t flop around like other riding pants do.
Most of our customers wear our pants with a pair of jeans or riding pants and find that those two alone provide plenty of protection in a crash. However, adding a pair of Kevlar® pants over these motorcycle pants would be the perfect combination.
Q: Won’t these pants be HOT? A: By no means. These motorcycle pants are actually quite cool. They are made of a very soft, stretchy mesh material that lets air pass right through to help keep you cool and comfortable. We recommend you read the reviews to determine if these will work for you.
Q: Can I get them with a fly? A: Yes, please let us know you would like a fly version by leaving a note at check out.
Q: What is the difference between your Adventure and Cool-Air Pants? A: The Adventure Pants are made from a stretchy, mid-weight Lycra® fabric with a ventilated crotch panel. The Cool-Air Pants are made entirely from a stretchy, lightweight elastic mesh material. Both types of pants have tailbone, hip, knee/shin and thigh armor. Adventure Pants have consistently been popular among our all-season riders. The Cool-Air Pants are popular for people who ride in very hot and humid climates.
Q: I am in between sizes, how do I know which one to choose? A: Great question. If you are in-between sizes or you are having trouble fitting into our size chart, give us a call 704-663-0351 or email us at [email protected] .
We are more than happy to help. Indicate your waist, inseam, height and weight if you would like.
Another option: Oftentimes customers will order one size fully armored and then a fabric shell in another size and return the fabric shell of the one that does not fit. This saves time and money in the long run should you order the wrong size.
We do ask that you contact us via telephone or email to request an RMA number and let us know which size you are sending back. This helps to expedite your return within our facility.

Men’s + Women’s Sizing
Waist: Measure around natural waist—not too loose, not too snug.
Inseam: Measure from inside top of thigh to the middle of ankle bone. See diagram below for where to measure.
Our pocket design enables you to easily remove the armor and wash your fabric shells for years of use.
Follow the steps below to ensure long-lasting wear and care:
Pull the fabric back on the armor pockets to remove the armor. (Note: failure to remove armor may cause damage to the fabric shell.)
Wash the fabric shells on a low temperature setting and Gentle Cycle .
We recommend using an activewear detergent when laundering your garments to maintain the integrity of the stretch in the fabric.
Be sure not to wash Bohn fabric shells with items that have Velcro, hooks or accessories that could catch and snag the fabric.
Dry shells on low temperature or hang dry.
When dry, reinsert the armor pieces into their respective pockets and pull the pocket flaps into place. This ensures the armor will stay in place.
Our garments must be washed regularly. Salt air and sweat left on the garment can break down the stretch in the garment so it is imperative that the garments be washed regularly and not stored for long periods of time with salt or sweat.
Also, pilling and runs can occur if the garment is consistently rubbing against something that agitates the garment (ie. tag, plastic, loose seam, etc.), so please be certain you do not have anything that will agitate the fabric. If you start seeing pilling, turn your jeans, pants or jacket worn over your Bohn garment inside out and feel for the item that is rubbing on your garment.
**Improper care (ie. lack of laundering) and pilling of garments is not warrantied.
With proper care, our garments can last years. We wish you many years of riding protection!
Great Product Karl
I’ve been using this armor for four months now from hot weather to cold, and I am very pleased. It actually holds in more heat than you’d expect for winter riding. I wear Under Armor thermal pants and shirt under them, then layer my outer clothing as needed for the conditions.
Awesome protective shell! Peter
I was previously wearing nylon pants that included knee and thigh pads. Because the pads were not fixed and would easily move around, I never felt safe. The Cool Air Mesh Riding Pants Shell offers far greater protection. Because it’s form fitting, the pads are held firmly in place. In addition, the pants include additional shin and tailbone protection. I also haven’t been bothered by any additional body heat. Their Customer Service Dept. is top notch. They are eager to help you with any questions or exchanges. Great product! Great company!
Hot weather friend Rick
I had purchased the mid-weight riding pants two years ago. Recently purchased the mesh/ summer weight pants. Transferred my original armor to the mesh pants, and I was ready to go. Very comfortable in the heat under my jeans. This product works as advertised. Also, the Bohn Armor system holds the armor in place, unlike riding pants with pockets to slip in the armor pieces into. I’m very happy with this company. High quality products, & great customer service.
Works as intended George
They do fit the armor pads from my all season Body Armor set as promised. Need to take the usual care to insert the armor pads correctly, especially the hip & upper leg pads. Very noticeable that it was cooler to ride with the mesh pants on a really hot day.
These fit perfectly under my Kevlar pants with all armor inserted allowing constant airflow to keep me cool on these warm/hot summer days.
Most Impressive tracey
Been a customer for well over a decade. Great product. I did stress mine a few years ago, worked great. Most impressive is the flat out abuse I put on my Bohn Armor gear. I only needed to replace mine due to a large weight loss.
Weird Looking but Comfortable Emailed Review
These are really weird looking and I was afraid that they would be like ladies pantyhose. It took a while for my buddy-a previous customer-to convince me to buy them but the 90 day return was good incentive. When they got here I was able to tell they were high quality and I wasn’t going to snag them or put my thumb through them. I was a little leery of how they would treat my lush crop of leg hairs but they didn’t pinch or pull at all. They are comfortable all day on the bike and I’m just sorry I didn’t get them sooner because I feel so much safer now!

I wanted a knee armour that i can wear under my jeans. After searching from the internet i found out that Bohn Body Armor are the best. Hence, I bought a full suit cool air mesh, which i can say that i don’t regret buying it. Thank you Bohn Body Armor
Just as advertised Ed
Nice lightweight material. Used my own armor.
My Sas-tec and D3O hip pads fit somewhat sideways but overall happy to have the
pads closer to me instead of hanging in my overpants.
