Ride COOL with the best-selling product for over 25 years – now with shorter knees!
Dual-Sport Motorcyclists, we’ve got you covered! Our most popular motorcycle pants NOW with shorter knee armor to fit taller motorcycle boots!
Armor:
Fabric and Design:
Features:
Benefits:
(*Note: Pants are designed for impact protection, not abrasion resistance. EU Customers)
Q: What type of protection do these pants offer me?
A: Our All-Season Adventure Motorcycle Riding Pants offer protection for hips, knees, tailbone and thighs (CE-Level 2 on hips and knees) Low-profile armor fits comfortably and hugs the vulnerable corners of your body. The armor stays in place and won’t move around.
Q: Are the pants abrasion resistant?
A: The main design function of our Motorcycle Pants is impact protection. While the armor pieces do offer you some abrasion resistance in a fall, the pants themselves are not reinforced with Kevlar® or Cordura®. Our goal with our pants is to keep the armor right where you need it, if you need it. The armor stays snug to your body and won’t flop around like other riding pants do.
Most of our customers wear our pants with a pair of jeans or riding pants and find that those two alone provide plenty of protection in a crash. However, adding a pair of Kevlar® pants over these motorcycle pants would be the perfect combination.
Q: What is the difference between your original All-Season Pants and these “Adventure” pants?
A: The difference is in the knees. 5x8 vs. 5x12. The new knees are meant to accommodate a taller motorcycle boot.
Q: Won’t these pants be HOT?
A: By no means. These motorcycle pants are actually quite cool. They are made of a very soft, stretchy Lycra® that helps to wick away moisture to keep you comfortable. They also have a ventilated crotch panel for additional airflow.
We recommend you read the reviews to determine if these will work for you.
Q: Will they look bulky under my jeans?
A: No, not at all. Oftentimes no one will ever know you are wearing them.
Q. Do I need to purchase a larger sized pair of riding pants so these fit under them?
A. In our experience (and 1000s of others) you do not need to purchase a new pair of larger pants to fit over our motorcycle pants. This is because the fit is streamlined and the armor conforms to the body to prevent additional bulk.
Q: Do I have to wear underwear with these?
A: That is a personal choice that we leave up to our customers, but most riders choose to wear undergarments with their Adventure pants for cleanliness, hygiene and modesty reasons. Remember, the pants have a ventilated crotch area.
Q: What is the difference between your Adventure and Cool-Air Pants?
A: The Adventure Pants are made from a stretchy, mid-weight Lycra® fabric with a ventilated crotch panel. The Cool-Air Armored Pants are made entirely from a stretchy, lightweight elastic mesh material. Both types of pants have tailbone, hip, knee and thigh armor. Adventure Pants have consistently been popular among our all-season riders. The Cool-Air Pants are popular for people who ride in very hot and humid climates.
Q: I am in between sizes, how do I know which one to choose?
A: Great question. If you are in-between sizes or you are having trouble using our size chart, give us a call 704-663-0351 or email us at bohn@bohnarmor.com.
We are more than happy to help. Indicate your waist, inseam, height and weight if you would like.
Another option: Oftentimes customers will order one size fully armored and then a fabric shell in another size and return the fabric shell of the one that does not fit. This saves time and money in the long run should you order the wrong size.
We do ask that you contact us via telephone or email to request an RMA number and let us know which size you are sending back. This helps to expedite your return within our facility.
Q: I want to order for a friend but I am not sure of their size.
A: If you are ordering for a friend, give us a call – 704-663-0351. We can help size that person or you can always opt for a gift certificate.
Follow the steps below to ensure long-lasting wear and care:
Please NOTE:
**Lack of care, pilling of garments, rips, tears, or lingering smells are not covered under our warranty.
With proper care, our garments can last years. We wish you many years of riding protection!
We recommend removing the armor from your Bohn gear from time to time to clean it as detergent residue, salt (including body salt) and moisture can stick to it and negatively affect the armor.
Armor pieces should NOT be placed in the washing machine or dryer, but may be wiped clean with a damp cloth if they become soiled.
We recommend storing your protectors in temperatures above 55 degrees. Cold or hot temperatures will not affect the effectiveness of the protector, but extreme cold in addition to stress on the protector (ie. bending of the armor) can cause the pieces to crack. Please keep your protection inside your home and do not put your pants or shirts on when they have been sitting in temperatures below 50 degrees. They should be warmed first.
Protectors can be worn on a cold ride as your body warmth should keep the protectors at a comfortable temperature. If you would like protectors specifically made for cold temperatures, please give us a call we have options.
As such, do not stress the protectors in extremely cold weather conditions. For example, leaving pieces in a cold garage and then putting them on can cause armor with articulation to crack at the articulation points.
Just use good judgment when wearing the protectors and try your best to keep them against your warm body or stored in temperatures above 50-60 degrees for the longest life. DO NOT use frozen protectors–bring them inside to warm up before you use them.
Limb armor, like your helmet, has an expiration date typically 5-7 years from manufacture. Cracking of the armor pieces is not warrantied as this means one of two things:

Limb armor, like your helmet, has an expiration date typically 5-10 years from manufacture.
If you have Bohn armor that is 5-10 years old and is "crumbling", you need to replace it. If only one piece is crumbling, the other pieces are sure to follow. This means your armor has expired and all pieces should be replaced as they were likely manufactured at the same time.
Cracking of Level 2 armor pieces is not warrantied as this means one of two things:
If your protector is affected and you are confident that you have taken care of your protector, please give us a call.

Over all these are pretty good. The only thing I'd suggest is that they make the hip, thigh and trail bone armour larger. I am also looking forward to the day when they add in kevlar or something to offer skid protection..

Finally found lower half protective gear that fits me! As someone that's all torso and no legs, it was impossible to find motorcycle pants or riding jeans that even in their "short" length wouldn't have the knee protection down at my shins. This pair Bohn gear makes it so I'm fully protected and can wear whatever pants I want over it. Very happy with my purchase so far on the first 6 or so rides with it.

Uncommon customer service. The owner herself returned my call at 9pm her time to answer my questions and help get me fitted. She was right on about the sizing, and im blown away woth the small business service. She even saved me a fee dollars by directing me to a less expensive top. The product itself is top notch. Small business at its finest.

I like the protection of these, well place armor pads and once they have been on a few minutes you dont even know they are there. Had a slide out on the McGruder last week and din’t even get a raspberry on my hip. The downside is they are pretty warm, like most protection. I call them my dirt bike nylons. The zippers are a bit finicky (especially on the shirt) and the nylon type material is pretty warm. The material on the Bohn shirt I like better. The zipper at the calves is pretty tight so if you have big calves you may have issue. Honestly, five stars if the zippers worked better. Wore these for three days straight on a 500 mile BDR ride, Beta 500RS

Store owner replied: Connie, Thank you for bringing this to our attention in a review. We do not see seams coming apart very often, so we want to know when they do for our own quality control and to ensure our customers are satisfied. Please give us a call or email us so we can remedy this for you. We promise, we won't bite. Sincerely, Bohn Body Armor 704-663-0351
For adventure riding the knee pads could offer a bit more coverage. Even with vented riding pants they are a little warmer at slower speeds and I've not yet used them over 80F. The good news, the pads do stay in place!

I like that it is level 2 armor that is flexible. I like the compression fit, it is very comfortable. I like to wear cargo pants to carry stuff while riding so having armor underneath regular pants really helps me. I can never find a motorcycle pants that actually fit or have pockets. It would be cool if you guys made some sporty looking pants to go over the armor, like camo cargo pants and stuff. I do miss the zipper on back to secure to my jacket but will sacrifice that feature for now. I love your product and look forward to seeing other options you could add! Thank you!

From a previous accident I have a skin graft on the side of my left leg. I was very concerned and contacted customer service before ordering them. A lady named Kristen answered all my questions and suggested I get the Adventure regular ones. So I ordered a pair. I thought I would have to cut the leg off so they would not rub on the graft but so far they are not bothering it at all. They are much more comfortable than armored riding pants.

It's good at keeping the armor in place. Leggings would be better if (in order of priority): 1. If they could be made using Kevlar or Dyneema to make them the ultimate moto leggings that can withstand sliding and protect against road rash while being used under any regular pants 2. If the other thigh and sacrum armor could support CE level 2 sastec ghost armor 3. If the knee armor could support CE level 2 sastec ghost armor

Store owner replied: John, Thanks so much for your review. I thought it might be helpful to respond to this since they are good questions and suggestions. For the abrasion resistance fabric. Anything with Dynema or Kevlar is going to be hot. We find that the armor that is in the pants acts as not only a great impact layer but also add sufficient abrasion resistance in the areas you need it most. For the tailbone, you can upgrade to a level 2 (shoulder, knee, elbow) in the tailbone area if you would like. The KA2Air is a great choice. For the knee, we are considering a longer knee piece for the pants made with the "ghost" armor or we and SAS-TEC calls it "Tripleflex" (or similar style armor). But the articulated armor is so soft and flexible and comfortable that having that on your knee is so much more comfortable than the Tripleflex. You are trading a little bit of thickness for the articulated armor over the Tripleflex, but due to comfort the tradeoff is minimal. If you wanted us to "make" a pair of knees for you our of the Tripleflex, we have done that for customers, just give us a call. We'll let you know what it entails. ~Bohn
New pants are much more comforfortable than my previous pair. The hip and thigh armor is thinner and more flexible.

No full closure on pads allow the pads to slide out and turn causeing them to not sit straight. Also pads move around alot causing them to not sit in a position that would protect the parts they are supposed to ie sitting on cruiser my knee pads end up sliding to the inside of my legs coming off the knees.this is actually dirstacting while riding. otherwise the material is soft and breaths ok.

Excellent quality and true to size. I'm fit/trim and ordered the small. They fit perfectly under my jeans and the only armor visibility is at the knees. Wearing under my pants makes for more flexible riding attire. I'm able to still ride cool at 80º.

These are pretty good. Really, just a container, its all about the armor you put in them. And that blue stuff is fantastic. I'm waiting for them to come out with a complete pants or jacket kit, made out of the blue stuff. But for now, I got a couple pair for the pants, and the thing thigh armor. And another couple pair for the shirt. And the whole setup is probably about the same as wearing a T shirt and boxer briefs, even with the armor in. This is stuff I might actually wear, a lot of the gear is such a PitA to wear, I just don't. Being safe is easier when its comfortable.

I only issue I have is the thigh pads can roll up when you are putting them on. Pretty minor. Worn them under jeans at over 110 degrees and at that point they do act as an insulator from the heat coming off the pavement and cars. I do find I can sit around the office and I forget I have them on.

I ordered some Bohn body armor and am very pleasantly surprised regarding the fit and comfort while wearing them under my jeans. All pads fall in the right position but I think removing the pads and reinserting them into the undergarment may take some work.

The tights are a good fit and the mesh fabric seems like it will be cool to wear in the heat. I'd have to say that the knee pads are underwhelming. I would prefer to have had the option to upgrade to some more protective knee protection for off-road riding. May have to look for some aftermarket knee armor that has a hard outer shell.

If you are "on the fence" as to purchasing Bohn products, get off the fence and buy it. Their is nothing on the market that comes close. Fit issues? No worries, the folks at Bohn will work with you. They won't be satisfied until you are. Do realize and understand, this is BODY armor meant to be worn beneath a jacket or pants. It is IMPACT protection and not rated for abrasion. The shirt, pants and armor is designed to hold close to the body. And, stay in place. Check the "armor" that comes typical with most jackets and pants. Its a joke. Even the high dollar jackets with the decent armor can never fit close like Bohn. This, IMHO is why the Bohn system is superior. Yep, its an investment. But one you will not regret making, esp. if unfortunate events occur. Cheaper than a trip to the ER. And of course, even the greatest armor will not protect in all scenarios i.e. it cannot make you invulnerable. ATGATT and riding within your skill set is crucial. Take an accredited MC safety course, and even if an experienced rider, take a refresher. Bohn Body Armor is a must for any and all serious motorcyclist. NEVER having to "test" out the armor is your goal. Its your LAST line of defense. Have fun and ride safe.

As a tall plus size woman, I was concerned about the fit as a lot of clothing items can it's challenging for me. These armored heights are very comfortable and very accommodating for my height and size. They move and stretch with me as I stand, bend, and sit. Definitely recommended as a protective under layer.

I was looking for armored pants. Checked several brands but kept coming back to Bohn. It’s hard to find motorcycle gear for petite kinda chunky ladies. Customer service was amazing! Wasn’t sure of size but after answering a few questions, the representative helped me chose the correct style and size. The Lycra is so comfortable. Fit under my jeans perfectly. They are so comfortable that I forget I have them on. The top of the pants do not roll down either. I would absolutely, completely and totally recommend these pants!
