Find your perfect fit the first time.
Bohn gear is designed to be worn close to the body so your armor stays exactly where it needs to be—when it matters most. This guide will help you choose the right size with confidence.

SHIRTS
How Bohn Shirts Should Fit
Close, Comfortable, and Secure
Bohn shirts are designed to fit like a performance base layer—not loose like a jacket or hoodie.
- Should feel snug, but not restrictive
- Armor should sit directly on your shoulders, elbows, and back
- Fabric should stretch but stay in place when you move, reach, or ride
- You should be able to wear it comfortably under your existing gear
Reality check:
If it feels slightly tighter than what you normally wear, that’s usually correct.
Loose armor = compromised protection. If it is pinching under your arms, you need to move up. If it is NOT pinching under your arms but still snug, you are in the right size.
How to Measure for Shirts
Chest Measurement (Primary):
- Men: measure around the fullest part of your chest
- Women: measure under the bust
- Keep the tape level and relaxed (don’t puff your chest)
Fit Tips Based on Body Type
-
Broad shoulders / smaller waist:
Stick with your chest size—fabric will contour naturally. If you are hugely broad shouldered with large/wide lateral muscles, you may have to go up a size. -
Larger midsection / narrower shoulders:
Size based on both your chest and midsection -
Between sizes:
→ Size down for a performance fit if your shoulders are regular or smaller
→ Size up if you have very broad shoulders and lateral muscles
-
Big & Tall / Petite riders:
Bohn is built for you—use your chest measurements
Common Shirt Fit Mistakes
- Choosing a size based on t-shirt fit
- Wanting it loose for comfort (this defeats the armor placement)
- Choosing a regular size vs. our Big Mens or Plus Women's sizes
PANTS:
How Bohn Pants Should Fit?
The Armor Stays Put, you Stay Protected!
Bohn pants are designed to hold armor securely at the hips, knees, thigh and tailbone—without shifting.
- Should feel secure around hips and thighs
- Knee armor should sit fairly centered when standing and riding
- Fabric should not be loose or twist or bunch under outer layers
- You should be able to move freely without armor drifting
How to Measure for Pants
Waist: Measure at your natural waist (not where your jeans sag)
Hips: Measure around the widest part of your hips/glutes
Inseam: Especially important for correct knee armor placement
Fit Tips Based on Body Type
-
Larger thighs / athletic build:
Size based on hip/waist measurement -
Shorter riders:
Pay attention to your inseam to keep knee armor aligned -
Long legs:
Consider tall options to prevent armor from riding high -
Between sizes:
→ Size down = more locked-in armor - especially if you are thinner in the leg
→ Size up = comfort - only if your thighs are very muscular or legs bigger
Common Pant Fit Mistakes
- Using jean size is very common and often correct. However it is not correct if your jeans do not fit correctly ie. you wear them loose or too tight.
- Ignoring inseam → leads to knee armor sitting too high/low
- Going too loose → armor shifts during impact
