Care Instructions

It’s easy to wash! The fabric pockets allow you to remove armor and wash your garment like regular clothing.

Follow the steps below to ensure long lasting wear.

  1. Pull back the lip on the pockets to remove the armor. (Note: failure to remove armor may cause damage to the fabric)
  2. Wash the shells on a low temperature regular (or gentle – preferred) cycle to prevent shrinking or stretching of the fabric. Be sure not to wash garments with other garments which may have Velcro or hooks that could catch the fabric
  3. Dry shells on low temperature or hang dry
  4. When dry, re-insert the armor into their respective pockets and pull the fabric lip of the pocket over the armor. This ensures that the armor stays safely in one place during wear.

With proper care our garments have lasted our customers decades. We hope you have yours for many years to come.

If for any reason you find that you have damaged a fabric shell or need to replace a worn out fabric shell, see our fabric shells page.

Customer Questions

Q. What is the difference between the Cool-Air shirts and the All-Season Airtex shirt?
A. The difference is the fabric. (See photo comparison on right.)
The Cool-Air is made entirely from a very lightweight, almost see-through mesh while the Airtex shirts are made from a mid-weight mesh and Lycra. Both have the same armor (back, shoulders, elbow and arm) so the protection is the same.

Cool-Air is made specifically for hot and humid riding conditions and the Airtex is a great all-season option.  Both can be worn over a t-shirt and under a jacket if needed.

Great Gear! 96F with Florida humidity. Cool! I had a off road Jersey on top. The most comfortable I’ve been in years. I ordered a XXL with a 51” chest, athletic cut fits perfect.

Great fit! Thank you for the great customer service. Your gal walked me through the purchase and helped me with the correct size as I was right on the cusp of the next size up. The shirt is great and have already worn it on a number of rides. It is very cool and suprisingly very comfortable.

Awesome color I really like my new shirt. It is definitley as you stated "Hi-Vis" so it's nice and bright and you can see me from a mile away. Really happy with this purchase. I'm ordering the pants next.

Fits the bill Cooler than my jacket for summer touring. Easy to launder. A tad expensive. Could not find a jacket that my wife liked but the shirt fits the bill.

Shirt to short for size stated Nice shirt just could be skittle longer, 1.5 to 2 inches into the waist line is not long enough, I'm a 45 chest and shirt us for a 46'48, still yo shirt, company dies not makes shirts for taller frames.

Yellow Shirt Gets Me Home Safe and Sound I'm riding a big 850 pound bagger on a daily commute that covers 115 miles a day! That trip covers leaving a sleepy city, two-lane country road, high-speed Interstate and congested metro rush hour traffic! Now in the humid heat of a southern summer, my Airtex Yellow-Lime shirt helps me be seen and not overheat so I get home safe and sound. It is everything Bohn Armor said it would be! Thanks for thinking of us! --Jerry B

Love the Hi Vis Color Love the fact that I can ride with the hi vis top alone or under my coat when it is chilly. The wife now wants her own. --Ron
